The Prime Minister then said India needs youth like Kovind. He congratulated the former President for completing this autobiography. Furthermore, Modi highlighted Kovind’s continued public work after leaving India’s highest constitutional office. He said Kovind did not choose rest after completing his presidential tenure. Instead, the former President continues working on important matters such as ‘One Nation, One Election’. Modi said resolving this issue could begin a new chapter for Indian democracy. Therefore, he believes citizens can learn greatly from Kovind’s dedication and spirit of service.
Modi Says India Needs More Young People With Kovind’s Determination
The Prime Minister said personalities like Kovind transformed their lives through hard work and ability. Additionally, he credited such people with helping fulfil a centuries-old dream and vision. Modi added that collective efforts towards this goal still continue.

A Childhood Tragedy That Modi Says Made Kovind Stronger
Modi then reflected on Ram Nath Kovind’s difficult childhood. He said Kovind came from an ordinary family. The former President was born in Kanpur Dehat.
According to Modi, Kovind described a painful childhood incident inside his book. One summer day, fire broke out at his family home. His mother ignored her own safety while trying to save household belongings. Modi explained that every item matters deeply for mothers in ordinary families. Such possessions often support the upbringing of their children.
During that effort, Kovind’s mother became trapped in the fire and died. Modi asked listeners to imagine the pain of losing a mother at such a young age. He then reflected on his own experience. Modi said he felt fortunate because his mother lived beyond 100 years. She continued blessing him throughout that time. Even so, he said he still feels her absence.
The Prime Minister said such a painful event could break anyone emotionally. However, he argued that those hardships instead made Kovind stronger.
