Ram Mandir Theft Protest Reaches Court: Pappu Yadav Summoned Over Parliament Street Play

The Prayagraj ACJM Court has summoned Purnia MP Pappu Yadav after a BJP leader accused his performance of insulting Hinduism.

Independent Purnia MP Rajesh Ranjan, also known as Pappu Yadav, has remained in headlines recently. A few days ago, he raised the Ram Mandir theft issue outside Parliament. During that street play, Yadav appeared as a Hindu ascetic wearing saffron clothes. Subsequently, several Hindu organisations, saints, and religious figures strongly objected to his performance.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Sushil Kumar Mishra filed a case against the MP in Prayagraj. The Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court has now summoned Yadav for Tuesday, August 11. The complaint accuses him of insulting Hinduism and lowering its dignity.

According to the provided information, authorities registered serious BNS charges against Pappu Yadav. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Yogesh Jain from Courtroom Number 10 ordered registration of the criminal case. Consequently, officials booked him under BNS Sections 318(4), 338, 196, 298, 299, and 356. The ACJM Court directed Yadav to appear today.

BJP Leader Details Allegations Behind the Complaint

Complainant Sushil Kumar Mishra, a BJP leader and advocate, made several allegations against Yadav. Mishra referred to theft involving donations from Lord Shri Ram’s temple in Ayodhya. He said people with “vile and disgraceful tendencies” stole money offered by devotees.

According to Mishra, authorities registered cases against those accused persons. He added that they currently remain behind prison bars. However, the complainant alleged that Yadav distorted this incident through fabrication and fraudulent portrayal.

Mishra further claimed that this performance demeaned Hinduism. He alleged that Pappu Yadav faces 41 cases involving serious offences. His statement mentioned murder, attempted killing, extortion, forced recovery, fraud, and other crimes.

The BJP leader argued that a Purnia MP staged the act outside Parliament, which he described as democracy’s temple. Mishra alleged that the performance aimed to insult Hindus along with their religion. Furthermore, he claimed that the act hurt community dignity, identity, and sentiments.

Complaint Targets Fake Donation Boxes and Portrayal of Priests

Mishra also accused Yadav of using fake donation boxes resembling temple collection containers. According to his complaint, the performance portrayed donation theft through a fabricated enactment.

Additionally, Mishra alleged that the act depicted saints, religious figures, and priests as thieves or robbers. He described such portrayal as a serious punishable offence.

Therefore, the complainant demanded criminal proceedings against the MP. Mishra also sought a court summons based on the submitted evidence. Finally, he argued that authorities should punish Yadav after considering those materials.
