A major development has emerged in the Ram Mandir donation case from Ayodhya. Consequently, SIT recovered an alleged fake receipt book during investigation. The team found the receipt book based on information provided by accused persons. Furthermore, accused individuals reportedly admitted collecting money through fake donation slips.
According to investigation details, suspects allegedly took donations and also issued forged receipts. These receipts reportedly helped them collect money from devotees.
SIT Recovers Fake Receipt Book During Investigation
The investigation team recovered old fake receipt books linked to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Moreover, officials found these materials through accused identification. Initially, when devotees expressed interest in donating at the temple, accused persons allegedly provided fake receipts.
The accused included Tinnu Yadav, Lavkush Mishra, Karunesh Pandey, Anukalp Mishra, and other arrested individuals.
Additionally, the fake receipts helped create an impression of genuine donation collection among devotees.
Fake Receipts Stopped After Online Donation System
The fake receipt carried the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra logo. Furthermore, the design looked similar to the original receipt format. However, the introduction of an online receipt system ended the paper-based process. Therefore, accused persons stopped using these fake slips.
Under the new arrangement, devotees directly transfer money to the Ram Mandir bank account. Meanwhile, visitors can also collect donation slips from temple counters.
Political Reactions Emerge Over Investigation
Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal raised questions about the investigation. Kejriwal claimed that different people committed the actual wrongdoing. Additionally, he alleged that SIT only attempts to mislead people.
According to Kejriwal, many citizens believe authorities are trying to close the matter without proper action.
Minister Gulab Devi Says No Donor Fraudster Will Escape
Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Minister Gulab Devi supported the investigation process. She said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath created a strong committee for the Ram Mandir donation case. According to Gulab Devi, no “donation thief” will escape regardless of their position.
She added that the investigation would identify every person involved in the alleged wrongdoing
