NEET-UG candidates now have a fresh exam date. Therefore, the medical entrance test will take place on June 21. Earlier, authorities cancelled the May 3 NEET exam after the paper leak issue surfaced. Meanwhile, the CBI continues its investigation into the leak case.
After getting central government approval, NTA fixed June 21, 2026, for the NEET-UG re-exam. Also, the agency marked Sunday for the fresh test. Moreover, NTA urged candidates and parents to trust only official communication channels.

High-Level Meeting At Dharmendra Pradhan’s Residence
Before this announcement, officials reviewed re-exam preparations on Thursday evening. Therefore, a high-level meeting took place at Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s residence. Official sources said the meeting covered several exam-related aspects.
Moreover, senior officials discussed conduct plans for medical course entrance testing. Secretary of Higher Education Vineet Joshi joined the meeting. Also, Secretary of School Education Sanjay Kumar attended it.
Additionally, NTA Director General Abhishek Singh took part in the discussion. The CBSE chairman also attended the meeting. Besides them, KVS and NVS commissioners joined other senior officers there.
CBI Probes Paper Leak Case
Meanwhile, the CBI continues probing the NEET-UG paper leak case. The important meeting followed NTA’s announcement about cancelling the May 3 exam. NTA took that step after allegations of exam-related irregularities.
On Thursday, a CBI team reached Jamwaramgarh in Jaipur. There, officers visited homes of accused persons arrested in the NEET-UG paper leak case. The team stayed there for nearly three hours.
During that visit, CBI officers spoke with relatives of two brothers in agency custody. Also, they examined details linked to the investigation.
Five Arrests Include Three From Jaipur
Earlier, on Wednesday, the CBI arrested five people in the paper leak case. Among them, three belong to Jaipur. The arrested Jaipur accused include Mangilal Biwal, Vikas Biwal, and Dinesh Biwal.
Meanwhile, the other two accused include Yash Yadav from Gurugram, Haryana. Also, Shubham Khairnar from Nashik figures among those arrested.
Later, the CBI team reached homes of Mangilal Biwal and Dinesh Biwal. Vikas Biwal also belongs to the same family. Then, officers recorded statements from relatives.
After the paper leak case came out, authorities cancelled the May 3 exam. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Special Operations Group detained more than 150 people in this case. These people included candidates and their family members.
