Monsoon rains have created severe disruption across Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad. Heavy rainfall caused waterlogging and traffic jams, affecting daily movement across the region. Consequently, roads witnessed slow traffic while residents faced major difficulties.
Low visibility and flooded roads delayed commuters on Ring Road, Outer Ring Road, and National Highway-48. Moreover, traffic problems increased around Dhaula Kuan, Mahipalpur, and Rajokari areas.
Several locations including Ashram, Mathura Road, Delhi-Gurugram Expressway, and Zakir Flyover faced movement issues. Additionally, Motinagar, Patel Nagar, Naraina, AIIMS, South Extension, Lajpat Nagar, Moolchand, Azadpur, Mukarba Chowk, and Delhi-Noida Link Road also reported disruptions.
Delhi Faces Waterlogging And Building Collapse Tragedy
Heavy monsoon rainfall affected several parts of the country on Wednesday, July 8. The downpour caused sudden flooding and disrupted road and rail transportation.
Meanwhile, Delhi residents struggled with waterlogging across multiple areas. In Rohini, a three-storey under-construction building collapsed due to rainfall conditions.
Rescue teams worked throughout Wednesday night and recovered two more bodies from debris. Therefore, the death toll increased to three people.
Authorities identified the deceased as local tailor Ram, aged 42, labourer Kafe alias Nurul, aged 24, and Ram Dua, aged 62.
Gurugram Turns Into A Flooded City After Rainfall
Gurugram faced severe waterlogging after Wednesday’s monsoon showers. Roads and drains overflowed, creating difficulties for office workers and residents.
Furthermore, flooded roads caused massive traffic jams across the city. Many commuters remained stranded for hours during peak movement.
Residents questioned the city’s preparedness after roads appeared damaged and some areas showed sinking surfaces.
The situation directly affected transportation and daily activities across Gurugram.
Noida Rain Exposes Drainage Challenges Again
Continuous rainfall created serious waterlogging across Noida’s major roads, sectors, and villages. Consequently, several streets turned into water-filled stretches.
Office employees, school children, and residents faced the biggest difficulties during daily travel.
Additionally, vehicles slowed down as water collected several feet on roads. Two-wheeler riders experienced greater problems while crossing flooded areas.
Overflowing sewage and drains spread dirty water across locations. As a result, residents faced unpleasant conditions and hygiene concerns.
A private school area also witnessed waterlogging, affecting children and parents. They crossed dirty water while travelling, increasing concerns about infections and water-related illnesses.
Faridabad Residents Struggle With Rain Impact
Heavy rainfall disrupted normal activities across Faridabad in Haryana. Office workers faced difficulties while travelling to workplaces.
Meanwhile, people crossed flooded routes near railway stations, metro areas, and roads. Local residents also expressed anger against the administration.
Low-lying areas experienced water entering homes after intense rainfall. Additionally, power supply issues created further difficulties for residents.
