Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to people to save petrol and diesel. Therefore, Bihar’s Samrat government announced a major decision. Moreover, Samrat Chaudhary urged ministers, officers, and citizens to support this appeal. He also asked people to use metro, buses, autos, or other public transport.
On Wednesday, May 13, 2026, CM Samrat Chaudhary shared this update on X. He wrote that Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged minimum vehicle use for diesel and petrol savings. Therefore, the Bihar government took several important decisions.
Bihar Lists Seven Fuel-Saving Decisions
First, Bihar decided to reduce vehicles in the Chief Minister’s carcade. Additionally, the government wants the convoy size at a minimum level. Second, Samrat Chaudhary appealed to ministers, corporation board chairpersons, members, officers, and representatives. He asked them to attend public events without extra vehicles.
Third, he urged Bihar’s people to prefer metro, buses, autos, or other public transport. Moreover, this appeal placed citizens at the centre of fuel-saving efforts. Fourth, the state government directed every department to arrange conferences and official meetings through video conferencing.
Fifth, Bihar instructed government office canteens to reduce palm oil use. Also, the government advised public and private offices to promote work-from-home culture. Seventh, Samrat Chaudhary urged everyone to observe one weekly “No Vehicle Day.”
Prem Kumar Says Vehicle Numbers Have Already Fallen
Meanwhile, Bihar Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal. He said, “We have reduced the number of vehicles. Our ministers are also working. Bihar’s people are also saving. In the coming time, people will certainly benefit from the Prime Minister’s call.”
Thus, Bihar has linked PM Modi’s fuel-saving message with official travel, public transport, office meetings, and weekly movement habits. Now, the focus turns to how ministers, departments, offices, and citizens follow these steps.
