The NIA names 10 accused in the Red Fort VBIED blast, with connections to terrorist groups AGuH and AQIS. The mastermind, Umar un Nabi, died in the attack

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a 7,500-page charge sheet in the Red Fort VBIED blast case. This blast occurred on November 10, 2025, and killed 11 people while injuring several others. NIA’s investigation led to the identification of 10 accused, including professionals like doctors.

Umar un Nabi, a resident of Pulwama, was named the mastermind behind the attack. However, he had died during the explosion. NIA confirmed his identity through DNA fingerprinting. The investigation extended across Jammu-Kashmir, Delhi, Haryana, UP, Maharashtra, and Gujarat.

The Role of AGuH and AQIS in the Attack

All the accused are linked to two banned terrorist organizations: AGuH and Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS). According to NIA, the accused were involved in the operation called “Operation Heavenly Hind,” aiming to implement Sharia law in India.

The blast involved Triacetone Triperoxide (TATP), a highly explosive substance the accused secretly manufactured. They gathered necessary materials and conducted several experiments before making the explosives.

Illegal Weapons and Future Plans

NIA’s investigation also revealed that the accused tested rockets and IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices) intended for use on security establishments. These devices were designed to target Jammu-Kashmir and other parts of India. Furthermore, the accused were involved in the illegal procurement of dangerous weapons, including AK-47 rifles, Krinkov rifles, homemade pistols, and live cartridges.

Further Attack Plans Exposed

The investigation showed that the accused had planned more attacks at various locations, including Al Falah University, Faridabad, and certain areas in Jammu-Kashmir. Forensic analysis, voice analysis, and technical tests were conducted at these sites. Additionally, the accused bought specialized lab equipment like MMO anod, electric circuits, and switches online and offline.

Foiled Plans and Arrests

The NIA revealed that the accused planned to expand their network across India. However, the agency foiled their plot by uncovering the terrorist module. To date, 11 people have been arrested. Meanwhile, NIA is still searching for the remaining fugitives whose roles were uncovered during the investigation.
