Brett Lee clears rumours about Preity Zinta
Brett Lee started his IPL journey with Kings XI Punjab, now Punjab Kings. He played for the franchise for three years. During that period, rumours connected Lee with team co-owner Preity Zinta. Many speculated that both shared a relationship beyond friendship. However, Lee recently addressed these claims and rejected the rumours. He said Preity remains one of his closest friends.
The former cricketer said he never dated any Bollywood actress. He added that people could believe anything, but he knew the truth.
Speaking with Bombay Times, Lee said he never had a relationship with Preity. He also said he respected her greatly.
Lee said, “I never dated Bollywood actresses.” He added that Preity remains a good friend even today.
IPL association and Preity’s earlier reaction
Brett Lee and Preity Zinta appeared together at several events during their Kings XI Punjab association. Their appearances increased relationship rumours.
At that time, Preity expressed anger over repeated links with players. She said such rumours troubled her.
Preity had also clarified that she was not dating any cricketer. She rejected the speculation surrounding her name.
Lee later moved from Kings XI Punjab to Kolkata Knight Riders in 2011. During that period, he called Preity a good friend.
Brett Lee’s IPL journey with two franchises
Lee played for Kings XI Punjab from the first IPL season in 2008 until 2010. Later, he joined Kolkata Knight Riders in 2011. The Australian pacer played his final IPL season with Kolkata Knight Riders in 2013. Across 38 IPL matches, he took 25 wickets.
Meanwhile, Punjab Kings remains among teams that have never won an IPL title.
