A Memorable Semifinal For Vaibhav

The Duleep Trophy 2026 semifinal has already become memorable for Vaibhav. On day one, he captained East Zone after Ishan Kishan left the field. Ishan suffered a wrist injury during the match. However, Vaibhav’s tournament began poorly in the opening game. He managed only eight runs before losing his wicket in one innings.

Vaibhav Also Made Headlines With DRS

His leadership also attracted attention during Central Zone’s innings. The 40th over brought another notable moment involving Vaibhav. Mukesh Kumar bowled while Aryan Juyal faced the delivery on 46 runs. The ball passed extremely close to Aryan’s bat. East Zone players only suspected an edge at that moment. Still, nobody showed complete confidence about the appeal. Vaibhav then chose DRS, and his decision proved correct. The ball had touched Aryan’s bat before reaching the wicketkeeper’s gloves.
