Rajpal Yadav Faces Jail Again As Delhi High Court Upholds Cheque Bounce Conviction

Actor Rajpal Yadav receives a setback after Delhi High Court confirms conviction in seven cheque bounce cases and orders a three-month jail term.

Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav has received a major setback from Delhi High Court. The court upheld his conviction in several cheque bounce cases. Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma’s bench rejected his petitions against the lower court decision.

The actor had challenged the earlier verdict through multiple petitions. However, the court maintained the conviction after hearing the matter.

Court Orders Three Months Jail Term In Seven Cases

Delhi High Court sentenced Rajpal Yadav to three months simple imprisonment in all seven cheque bounce cases. The court directed that all sentences will run together.

Therefore, the actor will serve only a total three-month jail term. Along with imprisonment, the court imposed financial penalties in every case.

The court ordered a fine of ₹1.05 crore for each matter. Consequently, the total penalty across seven cases reaches ₹7.35 crore.

Rajpal Yadav Must Pay Compensation And State Amount

According to the court order, each case includes separate payment distribution. The complainant will receive ₹1 crore 4 lakh 75 thousand from every case.

Meanwhile, the state will receive ₹25 thousand in each matter. These payments form part of the penalty structure announced by the court.

Court Notes Repeated Failure To Follow Undertaking

Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma stated that the court provided several opportunities to Rajpal Yadav. These chances allowed him to follow his undertaking submitted before the court.

However, the actor failed to comply despite repeated opportunities. Therefore, the court decided to maintain the earlier conviction and punishment.

The latest order confirms the three-month imprisonment and financial penalty in all seven cheque bounce matters.
