Lok Sabha witnessed a debate on the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026. During the discussion, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi targeted the government over students, education and the examination system.
He described the student movement as an expression of young people. Rahul Gandhi said students’ anger was justified.
However, his speech faced repeated interruptions from the ruling side. Meanwhile, the Speaker advised him to remain focused on the bill.
Additionally, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister objected to some remarks made by Rahul Gandhi. He raised concerns over the use of certain words during the discussion.

Student Voice Must Receive Respect, Says Rahul Gandhi
While addressing the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi thanked members for allowing him to speak about students, education and examinations.
He said the movement did not represent anger, violence or hatred. Instead, he called it an expression of the country’s youth and future generations.
Rahul Gandhi stated that all political parties, including BJP, should respect these emotions.
Furthermore, he said BJP leaders should ask their children about the issue. According to him, they would also support the students.
