Recently, Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari addressed the issue during an ABP News interview. He said ethanol-blended petrol does not create harmful effects on car and bike engines. According to the government, E20 aims to reduce India’s oil imports and increase farmers’ income.
Gadkari also explained that people who do not want ethanol-blended fuel can purchase pure petrol. However, they will have to pay a higher price for it. This has raised questions about the actual cost difference between E20 and pure petrol.
Pure Petrol Price Can Reach ₹170 Per Litre
In Delhi, one litre of E20 petrol currently costs around ₹102. Meanwhile, pure petrol can cost between ₹167 and ₹170 per litre.
This fuel comes under the ultra-premium petrol category and represents India’s first 100 octane fuel. Indian Oil sells XP100 petrol at several petrol pumps across the country.
The company developed this fuel for high-performance vehicles. Because of its premium quality, pure petrol costs significantly more than regular E20 fuel.
How Pure Petrol Can Improve Vehicle Performance
