Congress leader Pawan Khera raised serious allegations during Assam Assembly elections. He targeted BJP leader and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena UBT leader Priyanka Chaturvedi made a strong demand. Therefore, political tensions intensified further during the ongoing election phase.
Priyanka Chaturvedi’s Demand
Priyanka Chaturvedi responded to Congress allegations publicly. She said Congress placed three allegations against Himanta Biswa Sarma. Moreover, she clarified that UAE issues golden visas, not passports. Therefore, she demanded that all facts must come before the public clearly.
Furthermore, she said Sarma must address people if claims lack truth. She added that these allegations carry serious weight. Additionally, she recalled Sarma earlier accused Gaurav Gogoi’s wife of Pakistan links. Therefore, she highlighted the seriousness of political accusations.
CM Sarma Responds To Claims
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma rejected the allegations strongly. He said Pawan Khera showed three passports from different countries. Moreover, Khera claimed those passports belonged to Sarma’s wife. Therefore, Sarma questioned the credibility of such claims.
Additionally, Sarma said Khera alleged a company exists under his son’s name. He added that Khera claimed assets reached ₹52,000 crore. Therefore, Sarma called the claim unrealistic compared to Assam’s budget size.
Investigation And Findings
Sarma said authorities investigated the matter carefully. They found errors in birthplace, spelling, and other details. Moreover, police confirmed through diplomatic channels of the Indian government. Therefore, officials declared UAE passports fake.
Legal Action Warning
Meanwhile, Sarma warned of strict legal action against Pawan Khera. He said authorities will file a case for fake documents and criminal conspiracy. Furthermore, he expressed strong confidence about legal consequences. Therefore, he stated Khera may spend final days in Assam jail.
