He also said the first cabinet would approve Ayushman Bharat. Moreover, he promised strict action against infiltrators. Modi said BJP workers faced many atrocities in Kerala and Bengal. Therefore, he credited Bengal’s success to workers and their families. He dedicated the victory to Bengal’s people.
Modi Links Victory To Workers And Shyama Prasad Mukherjee
Modi said May 4 evening continues, but Bengal has seen a new sunrise. He said Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee’s soul gained peace. According to him, Mukherjee dreamed of such a Bengal. On May 4, 2026, Bengal gave BJP workers that chance.
Modi also praised high voting. He said West Bengal recorded nearly 93% turnout. Moreover, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Kerala created new polling records. Women also took part in large numbers. Therefore, he called this India’s brightest democratic picture.

Modi said victory and defeat form natural parts of democracy. However, five states showed the world India’s democratic strength. He called India the Mother of Democracy. He added that democracy means more than a system for Indians. According to him, it runs through India’s veins.
He said years of practice turn into achievement. Then, he saw that happiness on BJP workers’ faces nationwide. Modi said people trust India’s democracy. Also, they trust stability and “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.”
Nitin Nabin Attacks Opposition And Thanks Voters
Nitin Nabin said the INDI alliance would scatter like cards after this election. He also said voters taught a lesson over rejection of Nari Vandan Bill. Moreover, he thanked voters across five states for supporting BJP-NDA leadership.
Nabin said this victory came after great struggle. He added that Bengal had an atmosphere of fear. The BJP president also said this massive win fulfilled the 2024 pain. According to him, voters showed faith in PM Modi.

Earlier, Modi wrote on X about the Bengal result. He said the 2026 West Bengal Assembly election will remain memorable. He called it a victory of people’s power. Also, he called it BJP’s good governance politics victory. He bowed to every person of West Bengal.
He said people gave BJP a magnificent mandate. Moreover, he promised BJP would fulfil Bengal’s dreams and hopes. He said BJP would provide opportunity and respect to every section. Modi also said BJP’s record Bengal win needed generations of workers. He saluted their efforts and struggles.

BJP Leads Bengal, Assam Stays Strong, TVK Surges
In West Bengal, BJP moved toward a decisive win with leads on 204 seats. Meanwhile, ruling Trinamool Congress stayed far behind on 83 seats during counting. In Assam, BJP strengthened its dominance further. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu saw a major shift.
