Mamata Banerjee’s Big BJP Attack: “Silence Me Only By Taking My Life”

TMC chief Mamata Banerjee targets BJP over alleged pressure on party leaders, while her remarks come amid defections and upcoming Rajya Sabha polls.

West Bengal TMC chief Mamata Banerjee launched a strong attack against the BJP. She alleged that BJP continuously pressures and targets TMC leaders. However, Mamata said she will not step back because of such actions. In a video message, she claimed BJP is trying every possible method to silence her voice. She said that anyone wanting to stop her must take her life.

TMC MP Derek O’Brien shared this video on social media platform X. In the message, Mamata directly challenged BJP and alleged attempts to break her party.

Her statement came after three former TMC MPs joined BJP. The BJP has also selected them as candidates for West Bengal bypolls.

Mamata Raises Allegations In Video Message

Mamata said, “If you want to silence me, you will have to kill me.” She alleged that BJP has targeted several senior TMC leaders. She mentioned Mahua Moitra, Abhishek Banerjee, and Kalyan Banerjee during her statement. She also claimed that her residence faced an attack. Furthermore, Mamata spoke about party leaders and workers currently under custody. She alleged that authorities treated them in an inhuman manner.

She claimed some leaders were forced to sleep on floors. She also alleged that some people faced restraints with ropes and handcuffs.

Mamata further claimed that some leaders had their heads shaved. She described these actions as humiliating treatment against her party members.

Mamata Warns Leaders Working Against TMC

The TMC chief also expressed anger towards leaders leaving the party. She said trust remains the biggest factor in politics. According to Mamata, some leaders are breaking public faith through their actions. She asked such people to choose between TMC and BJP.

She said leaders should either work with TMC or openly join BJP. Mamata alleged that some individuals pretend to remain in TMC while supporting BJP activities.

She urged such leaders to stop misleading party workers. Mamata said anyone wanting to join BJP should leave TMC directly.

BJP Announces Candidates For Bengal Rajya Sabha Bypolls

TMC has faced continuous setbacks after political changes in West Bengal. Several MPs, MLAs, and senior leaders have moved towards the rebel group. The BJP announced former TMC MPs Sushmita Dev, Sukhendu Shekhar Roy, and Prakash Chik Baraik as candidates for the July 24 Rajya Sabha bypolls.

All three leaders recently left TMC and joined BJP. West Bengal will hold bypolls for three Rajya Sabha seats on July 24.

Voting and counting will happen on the same day. Political observers believe BJP holds a strong position after its major assembly election victory.
