Iran Strikes US Base in Kuwait Within Two Hours of Bandar Abbas Attack

Iran hit Kuwait’s Al Salem Airbase after the US attacked a drone launcher site near Bandar Abbas, deepening tensions despite the April ceasefire.

Iran attacked Kuwait after the United States bombed a target near Bandar Abbas, according to the reference details. The Islamic Revolutionary Guards said Iran struck Al Salem Airbase in Kuwait. Moreover, this base belongs to the US military. Kuwait’s army said it activated air defence systems around the base. Additionally, Kuwait asked citizens to follow safety rules after the attack.

According to Tasnim news agency, the US military struck a drone launcher site near Bandar Abbas on Thursday. The strike took place at 4.50 am, according to Iranian time. Iran viewed this action as a ceasefire violation. Therefore, Tehran launched a retaliatory strike on Kuwait two hours later. This response pushed tensions higher despite earlier ceasefire efforts.

Why Fighting Started Again

Iran and America officially announced a ceasefire in April. After that, both sides continued talks toward an agreement. This week, Iranian representatives travelled to Kuwait to prepare the final draft. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump made a strong statement after a cabinet meeting. He said America wanted enriched uranium under every condition. However, Iran refused to provide it.

After that statement, the US military attacked Bandar Abbas. The American forces destroyed four drones and one site near the area. Then, Iran reacted sharply and launched the Kuwait attack. Axios reported that a US commercial ship passed near Bandar Abbas. The American military handled the ship’s security. Iran then fired four drones toward that vessel. However, US forces shot them down and destroyed one launcher.

America described the action as defensive. Still, Iran treated the strike as a breach of the ceasefire. As a result, the situation quickly moved from fragile talks to direct retaliation. Kuwait then became the centre of the fresh military response. The Al Salem Airbase attack also raised fresh security concerns in the region.

Israel Opens Front Against Lebanon

Meanwhile, Israel began attacking Lebanon as clashes started between America and Iran. Israel targeted Hezbollah positions inside Lebanon. On Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave permission for strong attacks on Lebanon. Lebanon borders Israel, and Hezbollah controls key areas there.

Hezbollah forms part of the Axis of Resistance. Iran leads this network. Therefore, the renewed US-Iran clash quickly affected the wider region. The latest developments now connect Bandar Abbas, Kuwait, and Lebanon in one escalating chain. However, future moves will depend on whether both sides return to talks or continue military action.
