Team India will tour Sri Lanka to play a two-match Test series, marking their first visit since 2017.
The series will start on 15 August with the first Test in Galle.
India last played a Test series in Sri Lanka under Virat Kohli’s captaincy, winning convincingly.
Shubman Gill to Lead India
This time, Shubman Gill will captain India in the series, taking the team back to Sri Lanka after nine years.
The first Test is scheduled from 15 to 19 August in Galle, and the second match is expected from 23 August.
Although the second venue is not officially announced, Colombo’s Singhalese Sports Club (SSC) is a likely option.
Part of World Test Championship
The two-match series will count toward the World Test Championship (WTC) points.
Both Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and the BCCI have not formally released the official schedule yet.
Crickbuzz reports that the matches are likely to follow the dates mentioned, with updates expected soon.
Possible T20 Series
Apart from the two Tests, Team India may also play a three-match T20 series in Sri Lanka.
BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia confirmed that a request for three T20 matches has been made.
The board will finalize the schedule for the T20 series shortly after confirmation.
