Uttar Pradesh has launched a major infrastructure and industrial development initiative. Moreover, the Ganga Expressway will transform into an expressway-cum-industrial corridor. Additionally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate this project on April 29. Therefore, this step aims to accelerate economic activity across the state.
Industrial Corridor Strategy
Meanwhile, the state government has designed a strategy beyond a simple road project. Furthermore, officials plan to convert the expressway into a major industrial hub. Consequently, manufacturing and logistics sectors will gain strong support. Additionally, this model will connect infrastructure with industrial growth directly.
Scale And Investment
Notably, the expressway stretches approximately 594 kilometers in length. Moreover, authorities will develop 12 industrial nodes along this route. Additionally, UPEIDA has already identified around 6,507 acres of land. Therefore, the project will function as an integrated manufacturing and logistics cluster.
Districts And Proposals
Importantly, the corridor will cover 12 districts across Uttar Pradesh. These include Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Raebareli, Pratapgarh, and Prayagraj. Furthermore, officials have received 987 investment proposals already. Consequently, expected investment could reach nearly ₹47,000 crore.
Node-Based Development
Additionally, planners will design each industrial node based on geography and capacity. Therefore, balanced growth in manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics will occur. Moreover, improved connectivity will strengthen supply chains significantly. As a result, industries will operate more efficiently across regions.
Impact On Jobs And Economy
Meanwhile, this project will create large-scale employment opportunities locally. Furthermore, regions like Hardoi, Unnao, Raebareli, and Pratapgarh may see rapid industrial growth. Consequently, regional disparities could reduce over time. Therefore, the initiative may transform the expressway into a strong economic development belt.
