Delhi minor rape case: Class 6 student attacked after shop visit

An 11-year-old girl from Delhi’s Sadar Bazaar area faced abuse after visiting a shop for school items. Police arrested the accused.

A shocking incident came from Delhi’s Sadar Bazaar area, where an 11-year-old Class 6 student faced an alleged sexual assault. Delhi Police arrested the accused after taking action in the case. The police also registered an FIR and started further investigation.

The incident reportedly happened when the child went outside to purchase some items. The accused allegedly called her inside a tailoring shop located on her route and confined her there.

Police started investigation after September 16 incident

According to Delhi Police, officials received information through a PCR call on the night of September 16. The caller informed police that a shopkeeper had allegedly confined a minor inside his shop and committed an obscene act.

Soon after receiving the information, a team from Sadar Bazaar Police Station reached the location. Additionally, a team from the women police station also arrived at the spot. The officials began investigating the matter after reaching the scene.

Girl had gone out around 11 PM for school items

During the investigation, police found that the minor left her house around 11 PM. She had gone outside to buy items required for school.

Meanwhile, a tailoring shop came along her way. Police stated that the tailor allegedly convinced the girl to enter the shop. The accused then allegedly committed the crime against her.

The police identified the accused as Maqsood. The case involves serious charges, including sections under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Accused sent to judicial custody

The women police station registered an FIR against the accused under POCSO and other relevant serious sections. Police arrested Maqsood in connection with the case.

Furthermore, authorities sent the accused to judicial custody. Delhi Police continues the legal process and investigation into the incident.
