A marriage in Agra turned into a disturbing legal dispute within days. According to allegations, a bride demanded ₹90 lakh on the wedding night. Consequently, the situation escalated into threats and fear. Police have registered a case and started investigation.
Marriage Turns Into Conflict Quickly
Gaurav and Kalpana, both Agra residents, married on April 29 nearly one year ago. However, the relationship broke down within a day. According to FIR by Muskan, Gaurav’s sister, Kalpana refused physical relations. Instead, she allegedly insulted her husband.

Jewellery Taken and Pressure Increased
Kalpana and her brothers allegedly took jewellery from both families. They claimed they wanted to wear the ornaments. Meanwhile, Kalpana repeatedly pressured Gaurav’s family for ₹90 lakh. She asked them to give money willingly to her father and brothers.
Threats and Departure From Home
During the first week of July, Kalpana went to her parental home. Before leaving, she allegedly issued a warning. She said, “Give ₹90 lakh or be ready to die.” Since then, she has not returned. Additionally, her family allegedly threatened to burn Gaurav’s family alive.
Bank Details Shared and Demands Continued
On September 3, Kalpana’s brother Rahul shared bank details with Muskan. He instructed her to transfer the demanded amount. Therefore, pressure for payment continued over months.
Family Faces Lock-In and Threats
On March 25, Kalpana arrived at Gaurav’s house with her family and matchmaker. They allegedly locked the family inside and abused them. Furthermore, they gave two hours to arrange ₹90 lakh or face death.
Elderly Father Allegedly Harassed
Gaurav’s father Ummed Singh, aged 67, faced humiliation and verbal abuse. He is a heart patient and visually impaired. Accused persons allegedly told him he should die.
Alleged Attempt to Stage Accident
The accused allegedly tampered with the PNG connection at the house. They planned to present the incident as an accident. However, police later rescued the family safely.
Ongoing Threats and Investigation
The complainant stated that accused persons still roam near their house. They continue issuing threats and creating fear. The matchmaker Munna Master allegedly admitted planning the marriage for money extortion. Police have registered a case and continue investigation.
