New Appointment in Rajya Sabha

Now, Punjab-based Rajya Sabha MP Dr Ashok Mittal will serve as the new Deputy Leader. Furthermore, this change marks a significant shift in the party’s parliamentary leadership structure.

Speculation Around Internal Differences

Meanwhile, reports and speculation about differences between Raghav Chadha and AAP have circulated for a long time. Therefore, this move appears to confirm those ongoing discussions about internal distance.

However, the party has not issued any official statement regarding conflict or separation from Raghav Chadha.

Raghav Chadha’s Journey in AAP

Currently, AAP has 10 members in Rajya Sabha, including seven from Punjab and three from Delhi. Meanwhile, Raghav Chadha has remained associated with the party since its early days.

He started his political journey in 2012 while working with Arvind Kejriwal on the Delhi Lokpal Bill. Subsequently, his role expanded quickly, and he became the national spokesperson of the party.

After AAP’s 2015 Delhi election victory, he became the youngest treasurer in the party. Later, he contested the 2019 Lok Sabha election from South Delhi but lost to Ramesh Bidhuri.

However, he won the 2020 Delhi Assembly election from Rajendra Nagar. Furthermore, in 2022, he became the youngest Rajya Sabha MP at the age of 33.

Role in Party Leadership

Since then, he worked alongside leaders like Manish Sisodia and Bhagwant Mann in key parliamentary and organisational matters. Moreover, in 2023, AAP appointed him as its Rajya Sabha leader, replacing Sanjay Singh.

What Lies Ahead

As this change unfolds, attention remains on AAP’s internal dynamics and future leadership decisions. Therefore, upcoming developments may clarify the party’s direction and Raghav Chadha’s role ahead.
