State Session Alert: Amit Shah to Present Vande Mataram Bill First, Strict Punishment for Disrespect

In the upcoming Monsoon Session starting July 20, Home Minister Amit Shah will introduce the Vande Mataram Bill first in the Rajya Sabha, making disrespect punishable by law and ensuring national song reverence.

The upcoming Monsoon Session will list several critical bills, but Amit Shah will first introduce the Vande Mataram Bill in Rajya Sabha. This bill mandates strict legal action against anyone who disrespects or disrupts the singing of Vande Mataram. Accordingly, legislators must ensure the national song receives respect similar to the national anthem, Jan Gan Man.

Government Confident of Parliamentary Strength

Sources reveal that the government remains confident of sufficient numbers in the House for passing critical bills, even requiring a two-thirds majority if necessary. Additionally, strategists maintain communication with DMK representatives to ensure smooth proceedings and garner support.

Strict Punishment for Intentional Disruption

The bill specifies imprisonment up to three years for individuals who deliberately interrupt Vande Mataram or create disturbances during official gatherings. Cabinet recently approved these measures. Furthermore, the government already mandates Vande Mataram singing in all official events to reinforce national respect.
