Madhya Pradesh accelerates its defence production growth through a major industrial push in Shivpuri district. Consequently, Adani Group develops a private sector missile manufacturing ecosystem in the region. Additionally, the project involves ₹2,500 crore investment and positions South Asia’s largest private facility in this category. Furthermore, the initiative strengthens India’s defence manufacturing landscape significantly.

Meanwhile, the facility will include composite propellant production, explosive material handling, testing units, missile assembly, and final integration within a single complex. Additionally, the company plans ₹500 crore investment over the next three years. Furthermore, more than 50 MSME units will connect to its supply chain network.
Madhya Pradesh Strengthens Defence Manufacturing Position
Madhya Pradesh already holds a strong position in India’s defence production ecosystem. Currently, six of the country’s 41 government defence units operate within the state. Meanwhile, Maharashtra leads with nine units, followed by Uttar Pradesh with seven, placing Madhya Pradesh at third position. Additionally, the new private missile complex further strengthens this standing significantly.
Strategic Location Builds Future Defence Corridor
Shivpuri’s location along National Highway-27 enhances its industrial importance. Consequently, it connects efficiently to Gujarat ports and Uttar Pradesh Defence Corridor. Additionally, Bhind already manufactures assault rifles, sniper systems, and MMG weapons. Meanwhile, Gwalior hosts a key air force base. Therefore, the Gwalior–Shivpuri–Bhind belt evolves rapidly into a major defence manufacturing hub.
