Commercial flights have already started operating from Noida International Airport in Jewar. However, navigation issues on Google Maps created confusion among arriving passengers. Earlier, travellers from Delhi-NCR, Agra, and Mathura faced incorrect directions.
Instead of passenger terminal, many users were guided toward cargo terminal access points.
Passengers reach cargo terminal due to incorrect navigation data
On Monday, several travellers followed Google Maps directions and lost their way. Consequently, they reached the cargo terminal instead of the passenger terminal. Security personnel at cargo gate stopped them and clarified the mistake. Additionally, passengers reported extra travel of nearly 20 kilometres during the diversion.
Furthermore, this led to additional toll charges and wasted travel time.
Google Maps updates routing and restores correct airport access
Now, Google Maps has corrected the routing error affecting airport navigation. The app currently directs users toward the passenger terminal accurately. Moreover, it now shows connection through Yamuna Expressway routes.
As a result, passengers experience reduced travel time and improved navigation accuracy.
Recommended routes for reaching Noida International Airport
Travelers can use Delhi-Mumbai Link Greenfield Expressway for passenger terminal access. This route leads directly toward the airport entry gate within short distance. Additionally, proper route awareness helps avoid confusion while travelling without apps.
How navigation apps determine route directions
Navigation platforms use satellite images, aerial mapping, and real-time GPS data. These systems treat all roads as an interconnected network structure. Furthermore, advanced routing algorithms calculate the most efficient travel path between locations.
