Bomb Threats Rock Multiple Delhi Schools, Authorities Launch Swift Investigation

Several schools, including BT Tamil School and SPV School, received bomb threats, prompting immediate police action and safety measures.

Delhi: In a disturbing development, several schools in Delhi received bomb threats on Friday, causing a wave of panic across the capital. The threats, conveyed through ominous messages, led to swift action from the school administrations and Delhi Police. The schools named in the bomb threats include the BT Tamil School in Jhande Wala, SPV School, and the British School.

As soon as the threats were received, the respective school authorities immediately notified the police, who were quick to respond. Delhi Police teams were dispatched to the locations, setting up security perimeters around the school campuses. With bomb disposal experts and dog squads joining the investigation, authorities began a thorough search of the school buildings, classrooms, parking areas, and surrounding premises to ensure the safety of students and staff.

This latest bomb threat incident follows a similar scare that occurred in South Delhi earlier, when multiple schools received similar bomb threats. Among the schools affected in that earlier case were Loreto Convent School (Delhi Cantt.), Cambridge School (Shreenivasan Puri), Venkateshwar School (Rohini), Cambridge School (NFC), Indian School (Sadiq Nagar), CM Shri Rohini, DTA School (INA), Bal Bharti School (Rohini), Vanasthali School, and New Rajendra Nagar.

The Threats Expand Beyond Delhi

While Delhi remains the focal point of these alarming bomb threats, they are not limited to the national capital. Other states have also reported similar threats. In Jaipur, Rajasthan, the Modern School in the Mansarovar area received a bomb threat email earlier this week, further heightening concerns. Additionally, 16 private schools in Mohali, Punjab, were also targeted with bomb threats, forcing the authorities to evacuate the schools. However, after rigorous investigations, no suspicious or explosive material was found at any of these locations.

The pattern of bomb threats is spreading across the country, with even courts not exempt from such incidents. In the last three days, the Patna District Court has received bomb threats, though no explosives were found upon inspection.

A Rising Trend of Bomb Threats Across India

This wave of bomb threats against schools and institutions raises concerns about safety protocols and the preparedness of law enforcement agencies across the nation. While the threats appear to be hoaxes, their frequency and the panic they generate are undeniable. Schools, particularly in large cities, are now on heightened alert, and authorities are reviewing security measures to prevent any untoward incidents.

The authorities have urged citizens to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately. As investigations continue into these recent bomb threats, the primary focus remains on ensuring that educational institutions remain safe environments for students, teachers, and staff alike.

The bomb threats across Delhi schools like BT Tamil School, SPV School, and the British School, along with similar incidents in other parts of India, have created a wave of anxiety. However, thanks to the prompt action of local law enforcement, no harmful devices have been found so far. While investigations are ongoing, the increasing frequency of such threats emphasizes the need for enhanced security measures in schools across the country. As the investigation unfolds, authorities are keen to track down those responsible for these threats, ensuring that such hoaxes do not jeopardize the safety of students and educational staff.
