The fourth UP International Trade Show began in Greater Noida on Friday. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the event.
The trade show will run from September 25 to 29. It focuses on connecting Uttar Pradesh products, handicrafts, MSMEs, agriculture, technology, and other sectors with global markets.
Moreover, the event expects participation from over 2,400 exhibitors and more than 550 international buyers. The platform aims to expand opportunities for local producers.
Amit Shah Highlights Changing Investment Environment In Uttar Pradesh
During the opening ceremony, Amit Shah compared the earlier governments with the current administration. He said Uttar Pradesh once faced a situation where mafias controlled the state.
According to Amit Shah, law and order created challenges for investors earlier. However, after Yogi Adityanath became chief minister in 2017, action against mafias improved the investment environment.
Furthermore, Shah said investors need strong law and order before choosing any state. He added that better security conditions increased investor confidence in Uttar Pradesh.
He also mentioned the 2013 investment summit. Shah said authorities held that event in Delhi instead of Lucknow due to security concerns among investors.
Now, he said, Uttar Pradesh hosts an international trade show in Greater Noida. The event aims to provide global markets for state products.
From Make In India To Uttar Pradesh’s Global Products
Amit Shah referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Make in India campaign. He said India strengthened its position in manufacturing and exports.
Additionally, Shah mentioned growth in electronics exports. He said Uttar Pradesh also contributes to this transformation through various sectors.
He highlighted the Uttar Pradesh Defence Corridor and said the state is developing defence production capabilities.
Yogi Adityanath Highlights ₹2 Lakh Crore Export Milestone
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said Uttar Pradesh exports products worth around ₹2 lakh crore. He credited product quality, supply chains, and entrepreneurs’ reliability. According to Yogi, the trade show became an important platform in four years. It connects Uttar Pradesh products with international markets. This year, more countries and buyers are participating compared to previous editions. Traditional products, new-age products, and technology are gaining global demand.
Furthermore, Yogi said the government connects traditional skills with technology, design, packaging, branding, and marketing.
79 Products Receive GI Tags, 75 More Applications Submitted
Yogi Adityanath said 79 MSME products from Uttar Pradesh received GI tags. Additionally, 75 new products have applied for recognition. These products include Bhadohi carpets, Moradabad brass items, Kannauj perfume, and Varanasi silk. Through schemes like ODOP, PM Vishwakarma, and Vishwakarma Shram Samman, the government provides training, toolkits, loans, branding, and market access.
Yogi said Uttar Pradesh’s strength lies in tradition and local skills. He added that the trade show connects heritage with innovation and skills with markets.
