Supreme Court Petition Challenges Gyanesh Kumar’s Decisions, Seeks Cancellation Of Orders

A petition against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar has sought legal action and cancellation of disputed decisions allegedly taken unilaterally.

A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court against alleged unilateral decisions of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar. The plea seeks cancellation of all disputed decisions linked to the controversy.

The petition also requests appropriate legal action against Gyanesh Kumar and other officials. Advocate Shailendra Mani Tripathi filed the plea in the Supreme Court.

Petition Seeks Action Under Representation Of People Act

The petition requested action against officials found guilty of deliberately violating their official duties. It asked authorities to register complaints under Section 32 of the Representation of People Act, 1950.

Furthermore, the plea demanded initiation of legal proceedings against those responsible. It specifically sought action against officials connected with the alleged violations.

SIR Process Controversy Triggered Fresh Questions

Meanwhile, the issue gained attention after an Indian Express report on September 23. The report claimed that two out of three election commissioners raised objections several times during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.

However, the report stated that the process continued despite those objections. The development created fresh questions around the decision-making process.

The petition has now challenged the alleged decisions and requested the Supreme Court to examine the matter.
