NCERT has started releasing revised Class 9 textbooks for the 2026-27 academic session. The council has introduced changes in the learning pattern and syllabus for students. As part of this update, the new Mathematics book has reached the market. Meanwhile, the revised Social Science book will become available soon.
The National Council of Educational Research and Training prepared these books under the updated school syllabus. Additionally, NCERT aligned the new editions with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023. The council will release books in phases under its planned schedule.
New Mathematics Book Available For Class 9 Students
NCERT completed printing of the revised Class 9 Mathematics book, Ganita Manjari Part 2. The book became available for purchase from 21 September 2026.
Students, parents, teachers and schools can buy the book through authorised channels. Furthermore, NCERT confirmed that this edition forms part of the revised curriculum for the 2026-27 session.
Therefore, Class 9 students will study Mathematics through the updated syllabus with the new textbook.
Social Science Book To Arrive On September 30
After Mathematics, NCERT will release the revised Social Science textbook for Class 9. The Understanding Society- India & Beyond Part 2 book will be available from 30 September 2026.
Students and schools can purchase the book through approved platforms after its release. Thus, both subjects will receive their revised editions on separate dates.
Where Can Students Buy New NCERT Books?
NCERT advised students, parents, teachers and schools to purchase books only through authorised sources. The Mathematics book remains available currently, while the Social Science book will arrive on September 30.
Both textbooks will be available through NCERT sale counters, the official NCERT website and Amazon. Moreover, students can access these platforms for their required books.
Changes Introduced Under NEP 2020 And NCF-SE 2023
NCERT designed the Class 9 books according to the revised curriculum framework. The council stated that new editions consider changing learning needs of students.
Furthermore, NCERT said these books will help schools implement the updated syllabus effectively. The council also clarified that Mathematics and Social Science books follow the approved release plan and schedule.
