The Delhi court has sent the old voter list matter for fresh hearing after cancelling the earlier order related to the FIR plea.

The BJP has demanded answers from Rahul Gandhi over Sonia Gandhi’s old voter list matter. BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari alleged that Sonia Gandhi’s name appeared in the 1980 voter list before receiving Indian citizenship.

He questioned Rahul Gandhi about how her name entered the electoral roll during that period. Meanwhile, the matter has returned to Delhi court after a fresh development. The case relates to Sonia Gandhi’s voter list entry from 1980.

Delhi court orders fresh hearing in case

On September 21, 2026, the special court at Rouse Avenue, Delhi cancelled the previous order. Earlier, the court had rejected a petition seeking an FIR against Sonia Gandhi. However, the court has now sent the matter back to the magistrate for a new hearing.
