Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent a special birthday gift to women in West Bengal on Thursday, September 17. Through video conferencing, he released instalments under the Annapurna scheme for beneficiaries.
The government transferred ₹3,000 directly into women’s bank accounts under the scheme. During the event, PM Modi said their trust and affection remained his biggest strength.
PM Modi Highlights Annapurna Scheme Benefits
While addressing beneficiaries, PM Modi said he always received immense love from Bengal’s mothers and sisters. He also extended wishes on Vishwakarma Puja.
He said a new tradition was becoming stronger in Bengal through the Annapurna scheme. According to him, the initiative provided new strength to women.
Furthermore, Modi congratulated every woman receiving benefits under the scheme. He also wished them success and happiness.
The Prime Minister explained that women handle several responsibilities at home. They manage important decisions and continuously care for their families.
According to Modi, reduced concerns about necessary expenses can increase women’s confidence. He described Annapurna as an important effort toward improving women’s confidence.

PM Modi said making women’s lives easier remained a priority. He mentioned that Bengal’s mothers and sisters played an important role in choosing a new path.
He said women faced several challenges and waited for many things over long periods. The new government’s first priority was improving women’s ease of living.

Modi said the Annapurna scheme started with this vision. Work on the scheme began soon after the government was formed.
Now, money reaches many women’s bank accounts directly. He highlighted that the process involves no “cut-money” and no middlemen.
The Prime Minister said his government remains committed to ensuring every eligible woman receives Annapurna scheme benefits.
He added that work continues rapidly toward achieving this goal.
