Patiala House Court reserved its decision on Swatantra Bhardwaj’s bail plea. The court will announce its order on Tuesday, September 15.
Bhardwaj faces allegations linked to an assault case during the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar. Police arrested him after registering a case related to the incident.
Court Questions Police Over Caste Remark Claim
During the hearing, the court asked Delhi Police whether Swatantra Bhardwaj used caste-based words during the incident. Police said the first complaint did not mention any caste-related remarks.
However, police informed the court that the complainant later mentioned caste-related words in another statement. Therefore, authorities added SC/ST Act provisions to the case.

Defence Seeks Bail, Claims False Charges
Swatantra Bhardwaj approached Patiala House Court seeking bail in the case. His lawyer earlier requested an urgent hearing before the district judge. However, the court refused immediate hearing on the application. Later, the defence argued that authorities falsely accused Bhardwaj.
