Leaders of Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) reached New Delhi’s Parliament Street police station. They demanded justice for activist Nishu Azad and her father Sanjay. The leaders alleged an assault on Sanjay during a Jantar Mantar protest.
CJP national spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said Sanjay faced a physical attack during the demonstration. He claimed attackers injured Sanjay’s head openly during the incident. Ranka said the team repeatedly requested Delhi Police to arrest those involved.
Leaders accuse police of delaying action
Ashutosh Ranka alleged that Delhi Police ignored demands for strict action. He demanded charges related to attempted murder against those responsible. According to him, some individuals admitted their involvement in the incident.
Ranka said the police must arrest people who identified themselves after the incident. He demanded serious legal sections against the accused persons. He added that CJP stood with Nishu and Sanjay from the beginning.
CJP questions law and order situation
CJP chief spokesperson Saurav Das said violence occurred during their peaceful Jantar Mantar protest. He alleged that criminal groups continued such activities in Delhi. Das questioned why identified offenders remained outside jail.
Furthermore, Saurav said police mentioned identifying over 2,800 serious offenders. He asked authorities to investigate those people and take action. He added that CJP supported students and would continue standing with them.
CJP’s legal team, Saurav Das, Chandrashekhar Azad and Nishu Azad held a meeting with police. Azad Samaj Party-Kanshi Ram president Chandrashekhar Azad also reached the police station. He arrived to support CJP leaders demanding justice.
Rahul Gandhi assured support to Nishu Azad
Nishu Azad had requested help from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Later, Rahul Gandhi assured her support and promised help for justice. He reposted Nishu’s video and expressed solidarity.
Rahul Gandhi wrote that Nishu should not fear and he stood with her. He said her voice for students and her community led to targeting. He also questioned the alleged lack of action over Sanjay’s attack.
