September 1 started with rising expenses for common consumers across different sectors. The first day of the month brought higher prices for several daily-use items. Milk, gas cylinders, CNG, cars and transport services became costlier. Therefore, people may need to rethink their monthly spending plans.
Commercial LPG Cylinder Prices Increase Further
Early morning revisions increased commercial LPG cylinder prices. A 19-kilogram cylinder became costlier by Rs 9.50. Now, Delhi and Noida customers pay Rs 2,747.50 for the cylinder. Meanwhile, Kolkata sees a price of Rs 2,982. Chennai records Rs 2,916.50, while Mumbai reaches Rs 2,701.
Small Five-Kilogram Cylinder Also Gets Expensive
Additionally, the five-kilogram non-domestic FTL cylinder price increased by Rs 2. Earlier, customers paid Rs 762 for this cylinder. However, the revised price has reached Rs 764. Thus, small businesses using these cylinders will face higher costs.
Mumbai Consumers Face Higher Milk Prices
Meanwhile, milk buyers in Mumbai received another price shock. Open buffalo milk from local dairies became costlier by Rs 9 per litre. Earlier, the price stood at Rs 93 per litre. Now, consumers will pay Rs 102 per litre.
Tamil Nadu Milk Purchase Rate Goes Up
Similarly, Tamil Nadu also witnessed a milk price increase. The purchase rate from farmers increased by Rs 3 per litre. Earlier, buyers paid Rs 41 per litre. Now, the rate has moved to Rs 44 per litre.
CNG And PNG Prices Rise In Mumbai
Furthermore, Mumbai residents will pay more for CNG from September 1. The CNG price increased by Rs 2 per kilogram. Now, the fuel costs Rs 88 per kilogram. Domestic PNG prices also increased by Rs 1 in Mumbai.
Car Prices Increase As Companies Revise Rates
Meanwhile, buying a new car became more expensive. Tata Motors increased prices of its cars and SUVs by up to Rs 25,000. Additionally, Hyundai also raised vehicle prices again this year.
Auto And Taxi Travel Costs Increase In Mumbai
Moreover, Mumbai commuters will face higher travel expenses. Auto-rickshaw fares increased by Rs 1 from September 1. Black-and-yellow taxi fares also rose by Rs 2. As a result, daily transportation costs may increase for passengers.
