India-Pakistan relations have remained strained for years. Yet, personal encounters between citizens can sometimes create a different picture. Recently, a Pakistani woman shared her son’s treatment experience in India. A video featuring her account has gone viral across social media. She said doctors and nurses treated her family with exceptional warmth. According to her, words cannot fully describe that experience.
She was taught that India was a “dushman mulk”.
But when her son needed help, she crossed the border as a mother, not as a nationality.
In India, her Pakistani Muslim son received care from doctors and nurses who treated him with compassion and dignity.

Pakistani Mother Recalls Her Son’s Treatment Experience
The woman said her son received liver and kidney transplants in India 11 years ago. She added that he remains completely healthy and attends university. People still ask about her experience after choosing India for his treatment.
She recalled feeling anxious before travelling to India for medical care. According to her, the country felt like an enemy nation before their journey. She described India as a neighbouring foreign country without relatives or friends. However, that perception changed after their arrival.
Five people travelled together for the treatment. Her cousin donated organs for the transplant. Once they arrived, the surrounding environment surprised the family. She felt surrounded by people who treated them like their own.
The family had no relatives or friends accompanying them. They communicated with loved ones mainly through phone calls. Meanwhile, doctors and nurses provided emotional support throughout the treatment. She recalled doctors showing concern whenever her son Amar faced difficulties. According to her, medical staff sometimes had tears in their eyes.
She contrasted this experience with treatment in Pakistan. She said Pakistani doctors sometimes made her feel guilty about her child’s illness. Certain comments reportedly left her crying for hours. Therefore, she advised people to seek treatment in India if serious difficulties arise.
Woman Calls India-Pakistan Hostility a Political Game
The woman said people have created unnecessary divisions between both countries. According to her, the idea of treating each other as enemies represents political messaging. She believes people on both sides share considerable affection.
Her personal experience in India, she said, remained deeply positive. Meanwhile, the video continued attracting attention across social media. Users offered varied responses after watching her account.
The Instagram account ramnam.666 shared the video. Millions have reportedly watched it, while many users also liked the post. One user wrote that political games exist, while love should prevail. Another suggested guests receive better treatment than ordinary citizens.
A third user argued that wealthy patients receive respect inside hospitals. However, poorer people may face similar treatment everywhere.
