The Bharatiya Janata Party has started preparing for major organisational changes. Discussions began soon after Nitin Nabin became party president. Importantly, his new leadership team has now reached an almost final stage. Senior leader Harish Dwivedi could receive a major responsibility. Moreover, party circles consider his promotion nearly certain. Vinod Tawde’s inclusion also appears almost final.
According to sources, BJP could announce its national committee list soon. While forming this team, the party focused particularly on Gen Z and women. The upcoming list will include vice-presidents alongside general secretaries. Consequently, political circles have started closely watching possible appointments and changes.
Young Leaders, Women and Election Challenges Shape Nitin Nabin’s New BJP Team
Nabin’s new team could create opportunities for younger leaders. Additionally, women may receive important organisational responsibilities. Several previous names could also return to prominent positions. Meanwhile, leaders aged between 40 and 50 may secure significant roles. BJP could also consider upcoming elections across Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab while selecting members.
Within these discussions, Vinod Tawde and Harish Dwivedi appear almost certain for places in the team. Sunil Bansal could also continue as part of the organisation. Therefore, the final structure may balance experienced figures with younger leaders and greater female representation.
However, the incoming team will face several political challenges. BJP is considering multiple factors while creating its organisational structure. Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab will hold Assembly elections during 2027. These contests will present a major test for the new leadership. Soon afterward, the 2029 Lok Sabha election will create another significant challenge. Alongside electoral preparations, managing vote-bank equations will remain crucial.
Meanwhile, BJP president Nitin Nabin and organisation general secretary B.L. Santosh will leave for Visakhapatnam on Monday evening. Both leaders will attend the Sangh’s three-day Akhil Bharatiya Samanvay meeting. The organisation will hold that coordination meeting from August 19 through August 21.
