Sheikh Rashid’s Viral Video Sparks Row: Ex-Pakistan Minister Allegedly Calls Himself Hafiz Saeed’s Follower, Threatens India

An unverified video allegedly shows Sheikh Rashid discussing Hafiz Saeed, praising militants fighting India, while issuing threats against New Delhi.

Former Pakistan Home Minister Sheikh Rashid appears in a widely circulated social media video. In the clip, he allegedly discusses his relationship with Lashkar-e-Taiba founder Hafiz Saeed. Rashid reportedly describes himself as Saeed’s servant and follower. However, nobody has yet confirmed the recording’s date or location.

OSINT TV shared the footage on X. There, Rashid allegedly says he follows Hafiz Saeed. Furthermore, he claims American authorities returned him because his phone contained Saeed’s number.

Reports about possible contact between both men have surfaced earlier too. In 2012, officials stopped Rashid at an American airport for several hours of questioning. Media reports then mentioned possible links involving Hafiz Saeed and Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Rashid Allegedly Threatens India During the Same Recording

The clip also contains hostile remarks targeting India. Rashid allegedly praises militants fighting against the country. Moreover, he warns about serious consequences if India looks towards Pakistan.

During those comments, Rashid also mentions Birla Mandir in India. Several people allegedly associated with Lashkar appear beside him in the footage. However, their identities remain unconfirmed.

Sheikh Rashid previously served as Pakistan’s Home Minister. He also remained among leaders considered close to Imran Khan. Earlier, Rashid attracted attention because of statements directed against India.

Who Is Hafiz Saeed and What Does the Reference Say About Him?

Hafiz Saeed founded Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, commonly called LeT. Authorities consider him the mastermind behind Mumbai’s 2008 terrorist attacks. Lashkar-e-Taiba also faces accusations involving several attacks across India.

India’s National Investigation Agency filed charges against Hafiz Saeed during 2026. Those charges concerned another case linked with a terrorist attack.

Pakistani courts have also convicted Saeed in terror-financing cases. According to the reference, he currently serves a 31-year sentence inside Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the viral video continues attracting attention online. Still, uncertainty remains regarding when and where someone recorded the footage.
