Parliament’s Monsoon Session entered its final week, while government and opposition continued their political deadlock. On Tuesday, lawmakers from both camps argued across the Parliament complex. During one encounter, Priyanka Gandhi came face-to-face with BJP MP Mukesh Dalal. As she approached Parliament, Dalal raised “Rahul Gandhi, shame, shame” slogans. He also carried posters demanding answers over brutality against Jharkhand students. Priyanka responded that Rahul Gandhi had met those students. Afterwards, she smiled and continued towards Parliament. Dalal then asked when Rahul Gandhi had actually visited Jharkhand. Moreover, he questioned why Rahul Gandhi and Kejriwal lacked courage to travel there. Dalal said Priyanka Gandhi Vadra told him Rahul Gandhi was working on this matter. Therefore, he asked her why Rahul Gandhi had not gone to Jharkhand.
Gen Z Lathi-Charge and Ram Mandir Issue Keep Parliament Stalled
The opposition has demanded Amit Shah’s response over two matters behind the continuing parliamentary standoff. First, it seeks answers regarding the lathi-charge during Delhi’s Gen Z movement. Secondly, opposition leaders want a response concerning the Ram Mandir donation theft issue. Repeated uproar has prevented normal proceedings inside the House. Meanwhile, the government addressed the dispute on Monday, August 10. It said Amit Shah stood ready to answer the opposition’s questions. However, the government insisted that opposition members must listen and remain present during discussion. Despite that position, both sides failed to end the deadlock.
NDA MPs March as Priyanka Gandhi Turns Protest Back on Government
BJP leaders have now targeted opposition parties over police action during Jharkhand’s student movement. They ask why rival leaders remain silent about the lathi-charge. Furthermore, BJP members have demanded clear answers from the opposition. Against this backdrop, NDA MPs held a march inside the Parliament complex today. Priyanka Gandhi then reacted to the ruling alliance’s demonstration. She said she had seen government MPs protesting for the first time. According to Priyanka, opposition pressure had at least forced them into such action. Finally, she challenged those lawmakers to enter the House and answer questions.
