The Uttar Pradesh Assembly faced major disruption during the second day of the monsoon session. Samajwadi Party MLAs protested over Ram Temple donation allegations and other issues. During the protest, SP MLA Sachin Yadav displayed a picture of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The move triggered a heated situation inside the House.
Yogi attacks opposition over Assembly disruption
The SP legislators raised slogans inside the Assembly and interrupted proceedings. Their protest prevented Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath from completing his speech. Later, Yogi criticised the opposition’s actions and questioned the conduct of SP members. He said the opposition did not respect democratic values.
According to the Chief Minister, the behaviour of SP and opposition members was unconstitutional and shameful. He accused them of wasting valuable Assembly time. Yogi also said the government remained ready to discuss every issue. However, he claimed the opposition did not trust anyone.
The Chief Minister added that such actions harmed the interests of Uttar Pradesh’s 25 crore people. He further said the opposition wanted to create unnecessary disruptions inside the House.
SP MLA Sachin Yadav removed from entire session
Meanwhile, Jasarana MLA Sachin Yadav showed CM Yogi Adityanath’s picture during the protest. Speaker Satish Mahana warned him and asked him to stop the action. However, Sachin Yadav continued his protest despite the warning.
Therefore, the Speaker called marshals and ordered his removal from the Assembly. Later, Satish Mahana announced that Sachin Yadav would remain expelled for the entire session. He also warned that further action could affect his membership.
Afterward, SP MLAs surrounded Sachin Yadav and tried preventing his removal. The Speaker warned that supporters could also face action. Soon, pushing and shoving started inside the House.
Following the confrontation, many SP legislators entered the well of the Assembly. The intense protest forced authorities to suspend proceedings. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath could not complete his speech.
