NEET Protest Impact: Tejashwi Yadav Announces Jobs And Pension For Protester Students

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav announced government jobs and pensions for students affected during the NEET protest if his government comes to power.

The NEET paper leak protest began from Delhi’s Jantar-Mantar over the demand for Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation. Soon, students started demonstrations across different parts of India. Meanwhile, Bihar also witnessed major protests in Patna and other districts. During this situation, Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav made a major announcement.

Students May Get Jobs And Pension Under Future Government

Tejashwi Yadav referred to the pension given to participants of the JP movement. He then announced support for students affected during the recent protest. He said his government would provide government jobs and pensions to such students. The support would include those injured during peaceful democratic protests. Furthermore, the announcement covers students who faced police action, FIRs or jail during demonstrations. Tejashwi described these students as fighters.

He said, “If our government comes, we will arrange government jobs and pensions for these warriors.”

Additionally, he promised support for students raising concerns about corruption, employment and secure examinations. He said they would stand with students at every step.

Tejashwi made these statements while speaking to media on Tuesday, July 28, 2026.

Tejashwi Demands Judicial Inquiry Into Protest Action

Meanwhile, Bihar government issued an order regarding people arrested during the protest. Those jailed before 6 PM on July 26 would be released. The government also announced that no further action would follow against them. However, Tejashwi said public pressure forces governments to respond.

He stated that when people come onto streets, governments must bend. Therefore, he demanded a judicial inquiry into the action taken during protests.
