Noida saw tense scenes yesterday, however today conditions appeared largely controlled across industrial zones. Authorities increased police presence and ensured calm through strict monitoring. Meanwhile, the government raised minimum wages by ₹3000, effective April 1, 2026. This decision came during protests and signaled a major step toward resolving worker demands.
Police Action and Industrial Shutdown
Following unrest, police deployed heavy forces across Phase-2, Sector 63, Sector 58, and Ecotech Third areas. Moreover, officers guarded company gates and monitored every movement closely. Additionally, patrol teams remained active while officials stayed on alert throughout the day.
Police detained over 90 individuals, including 30 taken Monday night and 60 earlier. Furthermore, authorities identified 200 people involved in stone pelting, vandalism, and arson. Officials used CCTV footage and video evidence to continue action against suspects.
Work Halted, Talks Begin
Authorities ordered companies closed yesterday for safety reasons across the district. Consequently, most industrial work stopped, while some firms allowed limited operations. Many companies also granted leave to employees, which impacted production levels significantly.
Meanwhile, the government addressed worker concerns by approving a ₹3000 wage increase. Officials stated this step would benefit thousands and improve financial stability. Furthermore, authorities invited workers from nearly 70 companies for discussions to resolve remaining demands.
Normalcy Returns With Tight Vigilance
Today, Phase-2 and nearby areas showed normal conditions despite yesterday’s protests involving hundreds. Roads reopened, traffic resumed, and daily movement improved across the city. Similarly, Bhangel Elevated Road saw smooth traffic, offering relief to commuters.
However, authorities continued route diversions in some areas to manage crowds effectively. Additionally, police increased vigilance due to Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Jayanti. Sensitive locations received extra security, and officials monitored activities continuously.
Fresh Attempts, Firm Response
Some workers again tried to protest today, however police quickly stopped them from gathering. Wherever crowds formed, forces reached immediately and controlled the situation.
Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh urged workers to ignore rumors and remain calm. She confirmed the government addressed key demands while discussions continue on pending issues.
Overall, strong police action and administrative efforts restored stability across Noida after yesterday’s unrest.
