Rajpal Yadav on Bail in ₹9 Crore Case: Refuses to Name ‘Open to Help’ Supporters

Actor secured interim bail on February 16 in cheque bounce case; declines to reveal names or amounts of financial assistance

Actor Rajpal Yadav is currently out on bail. He received interim relief on February 16. Earlier, he had surrendered in Tihar Jail in connection with a ₹9 crore cheque bounce case.

During this challenging period, several Bollywood personalities extended support. Notably, actor Sonu Sood stepped forward first to assist him.

Rajpal Yadav Declines to Reveal Names

Speaking to E-Times, Rajpal Yadav addressed the long-running controversy. He said the issue first surfaced in media reports in 2012. At that time, some reports labelled him a fraud.

However, he questioned that perception directly. He said he has worked in at least ten films every year. Therefore, he asked why the industry would continue collaborating if he were dishonest. He added that the industry does not need to prove support publicly. Moreover, he expressed confidence that colleagues stand with him.

When asked about those who offered financial assistance, he declined to disclose names. Additionally, he refused to reveal the amounts involved.

He said he respects everyone who helped him. However, he clarified that he does not seek sympathy.

Background of the ₹9 Crore Case

In 2012, Rajpal Yadav produced the film “Ata Pata Lapata.” Unfortunately, the movie failed at the box office.

For that project, he borrowed ₹5 crore from Murli Private Limited. Over time, the liability increased to ₹9 crore.

To repay the loan, he issued cheques. However, seven cheques bounced subsequently. As a result, legal proceedings began against him.

Later, Rajpal Yadav surrendered before authorities and went to Tihar Jail in this case.

Bollywood Support During Jail Period

While he was in jail, several actors reportedly extended help. These included Sonu Sood, Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Varun Dhawan.

Despite that support, Rajpal chose not to publicise details. Instead, he maintained dignity and refrained from sharing specifics.

A Difficult Chapter

The cheque bounce case continues to define a difficult phase in his career. Nevertheless, he has now secured interim bail.

For now, Rajpal Yadav remains focused on moving forward. Meanwhile, he continues to express gratitude without seeking sympathy.
