Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney will visit India on Prime Minister Narendra Modi invitation. He will remain on official tour from Friday, 27 February to 2 March 2026. Notably, this marks his first official India visit.

Prime Minister Carney will land in Mumbai on 27 February. Over the next two days, he will attend several business engagements. Additionally, he will interact with Indian and Canadian CEOs.
He will also meet industry leaders, financial experts, and academicians. Furthermore, he will hold discussions with representatives of Canadian pension funds operating in India.
Hyderabad House Meeting With PM Modi
Subsequently, Prime Minister Carney will reach New Delhi on 1 March. On 2 March, both leaders will hold delegation level talks at Hyderabad House.
During discussions, they will review progress across India Canada strategic partnership areas. These conversations will build upon earlier meetings in Kananaskis in June 2025. They will also refer to Johannesburg interaction in November 2025.
Trade, Energy, Minerals and Global Issues on Agenda
Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Carney will examine cooperation in trade and investment. In addition, they will review engagement in energy and critical minerals. Agriculture, education, research, and innovation will also feature prominently.
Furthermore, leaders will discuss People to People Connect initiatives. They will exchange views on regional and global developments as well.
