Teams from the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation have begun a detailed probe into the Jharkhand air ambulance crash. The accident occurred in Chatra district on Monday evening and claimed seven lives.
On Wednesday, investigators collected crucial evidence from the wreckage of the Beechcraft C90 aircraft. The aircraft, registered as VT-AJV, belonged to Redbird Airways Pvt Ltd. Authorities confirmed that it was operating a medical evacuation flight from Ranchi to Delhi at the time of the crash.
The aircraft went down in Kasariya Panchayat under Simaria block at around 7:30 pm. Consequently, emergency services and local authorities rushed to the site to secure the area.
Evidence Collection and Drone Survey
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation team reached the crash site on Tuesday to begin preliminary examination. Subsequently, the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau team joined the process and collected vital documents and materials.

Eyewitness Pawan Yadav provided information to officials about the final moments of the aircraft. He stated that the plane appeared unstable before a loud explosion was heard.
According to him, light rain and poor weather conditions prevailed at the time of the incident. Consequently, investigators will likely examine weather data as part of their inquiry.

The aircraft took off from Ranchi at 19:11 IST. According to available data, it lost radar and communication contact nearly 100 nautical miles south-east of Varanasi. This loss of contact occurred shortly before the crash in Jharkhand’s forested terrain.

The teams will also evaluate whether any technical malfunction or external factor influenced the aircraft’s performance. Additionally, they will examine flight crew actions during the final phase of the journey.
