The auspicious festival of Mahashivratri will be celebrated on February 15, 2026 (Sunday). Devotees of Lord Shiva flock to temples in large numbers, seeking blessings. In Gujarat, the famous Somnath Temple near Veraval hosts the Mahashivratri Mela, drawing millions of devotees. Similarly, Ujjain and Sehore (Kubereshwar Dham) in Madhya Pradesh witness massive crowds for darshan at the revered Mahakal Temple. To ease the travel burden on these pilgrims, Indian Railways has come up with a major relief ahead of Mahashivratri.
