India, Brazil Sign MoU to Boost MSMEs and Green Transition

India and Brazil deepen MSME cooperation, promote sustainable growth, and support green finance during President Lula’s visit.

India and Brazil signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Saturday to strengthen collaboration in the MSME sector. Additionally, both nations agreed to promote sustainable development and accelerate green transition initiatives. The signing took place during Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva’s ongoing visit to India.

Officials from India’s Ministry of MSME and Brazil’s Ministry of Entrepreneurship, Micro and Small Enterprises formalised the agreement. Consequently, this step reflects expanding economic engagement between both partners.

Structured Platform for MSME Dialogue

The MoU aims to establish a structured dialogue platform on MSME-related issues. Moreover, it seeks to explore fresh avenues for cooperation that benefit enterprises in both countries.

Through this framework, MSMEs can better understand respective strengths, market trends, technologies, and policy environments.

The Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises stated that the agreement will build stronger linkages between Indian and Brazilian businesses. Furthermore, it will encourage collaboration, knowledge exchange, and partnerships across multiple sectors.

Focus on Green Finance and Sustainability

A central objective of the pact involves advancing green transition goals. Therefore, the arrangement will facilitate MSMEs’ access to green finance and support sustainable business models. By doing so, enterprises can integrate more effectively into global markets and value chains.

Additionally, the initiative intends to enhance productivity, improve competitiveness, and strengthen capacity for sustainable growth. Through this partnership, both countries aim to position their MSME ecosystems for long-term development.
