In a heartbreaking tragedy, Captains Shambhavi Pathak and Sumit Kapoor were killed when a plane carrying Maharashtra’s prominent political figure, Ajit Pawar, crashed near Baramati on Sunday, January 28, 2026. The aircraft, which was en route to a political event, met with a fatal accident, leading to the loss of two experienced pilots, leaving the state in shock.

The aircraft, a light plane, crashed into a field on the outskirts of Baramati around noon, causing an immediate emergency response.
